XTL® Technology – Extended Tire Life
The material handling industry identified tire wear
as the second largest expense next to fuel in the
operational cost of container handling equipment.
AxleTech listened and independently developed
a solution that extends tire life by 3.5 times with
its XTL® technology. AxleTech will make the XTL®
technology available for both original equipment

Portal Wheel End – Motorsports

When the Motorsports industry identified high
torque and low ground clearance as concerns,
AxleTech was there to develop the solution with
its AIM™ bolt-on portal wheel end technology
to achieve:
• Four gear design – no reverse rotation gearing
required (no flipped diffs!)
• 4.9 inch lift for improved ground clearance
• 1.5:1 reduction ratio for increased wheel torque
without increased stress on the ring
and pinion
• Heavy duty vented rotor with Wilwood four
piston caliper
• Central Tire Inflation option

Planetary Rigid Axle – PRC753 – Transit
When a transit authority had a fleet of buses with an outdated non-serviceable axle, AxleTech was
there to listen and develop the solution with its AxleTech Planetary Axle Technology. Our modular
weldable axle and axle housing designs allow us the flexibility to tailor fit our axles to fit most applications.

MaxxPro® – Military
When the war on terror shifted to the mountains of Afghanistan our customer identified an increase in
mobility as a key to winning the war. AxleTech and Hendrickson listened and the result was the team
developed and designed an up-rated independent suspension system for the MaxxPro® by combining
AxleTech’s expertise in high speed planetary axle technology along with Hendrickson’s chassis integration
experience, vehicle dynamic expertise and history of heavy duty suspension design. AxleTech took its
proven 5000 Series Independent Suspension Axle System (ISAS®) and, teaming with Hendrickson,
applied the system to Navistar’s MaxxPro® vehicle to give:
• Superior automotive performance (mobility and maneuverability)
• Better ride quality, track control and stability especially in off-road terrain
• Easy field retrofit for the MaxxPro® fleet in theater.
With AxleTech’s family of ISAS products (3000, 4000 and 5000 Series) we can develop an engineered
solution for just about any vehicle size. Our systems have proven application in axle capacity ranges
from 16,000 to 25,000 pounds (7,250 to 11,500 kilograms). We can develop an application for your
