AxleTech Wedge series brakes are time-proven designs in a wide range of vocations for commercial, military, and industrial.  They are available in various sizes -- from 15” diameter to 20.25” and widths from 4” to 7.9” in order to accommodate a variety of application requirements and packaging. 

The wedge brake is a balanced design in which even forces are applied to each end of the brake shoe.  This is done by a power unit which pushes the wedge between rollers which push plungers outward forcing the shoes against the brake drum.  Actuation can be either single or dual – via the power units which can be either air chambers or hydraulic cylinders.  This provides flexibility to the customer in order to match the available apply system on the vehicle or machine.
