PLANETARY RIGID AXLES
PRC/PROC2715 SERIES
PRODUCT SUMMARY
The AxleTech International PRC/PROC2715 series planetary rigid axle is engineered to meet the increasing demands of heavy-duty off-highway market vocations. Typical vocations include forestry, construction, and mining vehicle applications. This axle was developed for these vocational segments and is available as a rigid or trunnion mounted axle assembly. This axle has load ratings from 22,000 lbs. (10,000 kg.) to 50,000 lbs. (22,700 kg.) depending on vehicle vocation.
The PRC/PROC2715 planetary rigid axle offers a wide selection of gear ratios and load capacities for performance characteristics tailored to your needs. Engineered for compatibility with demanding traction conditions, the PRC/PROC2715 meets the trend of increased driveline torque, larger tire sizes and loading requirements. This axle provides extra ruggedness for prolonged use, as well as life. A shift-on-the-fly hydraulically controlled differential lock is standard. A limited slip differential with 2.0 bias ratio is available for improved traction in certain vocational markets. A right hand hypoid carrier option is also available for optimized driveline angles.
The PRC/PROC2715 design helps reduce the OEM/end-user maintenance costs. Extra axle housing and wheel end magnets are available as an option, to help reduce metallic contamination between scheduled lubricant change intervals. This upgraded axle model includes wheel speed wet-disc brakes. Carrier input pinion mounted park brake options are also available.
AxleTech International planetary rigid axles are tough, dependable, and thoroughly proven under the most severe conditions.
AxleTech International is the former Rockwell Off-Highway and European Specialty Products Group.

Important Features
Brakes: The axle will use the field proven AxleTech 360 mm wet-disc brake design. The brake will come with brake plate options tailored to customer needs. The 360 mm Service Brake is rated at 125 bar (1,800 psi) and will provide torque specific to the brake performance requirements. The design uses a field proven face seal and brake friction material.
Differential Carrier: Design will include all the design features of the proven RS145 AxleTech carrier. Improved carrier to housing joint, improved differential design, thrust screw standard, tight fit spider and large bearing cage. Hydraulic controlled differential lock or limited slip differential for severe duty.
Oscillating Axle: Utilizes a trunnion mount with long life bushing, oil or grease lubrication.
Park Brake: Optional model 1270 park brake at the input location with a 420 mm disc.
General Axle Features:
- Heavy duty axle hub bearing support to accommodate large size tire options.
- Axle design utilizes o-ring sealing in key areas of the wheel end.
- Easily removable wheel studs.
