Troy, Mich. – AxleTech International, one of the world’s leading suppliers of off-highway and specialty vehicle drivetrain systems, introduced today the PRC 1756 W3H series of planetary rigid axles. The PRC 1756 W3H offers a host of advantages for heavy-duty lift trucks, dock spotters, loaders, and mining vehicles. Axle capacities range from 37,500 – 110,000 lbs. (16,900 – 50,000 kg.) depending on vehicle vocation.
The PRC 1756 W3H axle features the field proven AxleTech 360 mm wheel-speed wetdisc brake. These hydraulically actuated brakes are insulated from external contaminants. This feature extends service life, lowers downtime, and reduces maintenance. The 6-plate service brake can be cooled by circulating oil through the brake.
These axles are engineered for demanding traction conditions and offer increased torque capacity versus previous models, which prolongs life in rugged environments. A limited slip differential, as well as NoSPIN®, DCDL, and HDL™ are available as options for improved traction. A right-hand hypoid carrier option is also available for optimized driveline angles.
High-capacity hypoid gearing offers greater torque capability than spiral bevel gearing, and carrier thrust screws provide ring-gear support in high torque loadings. Options include supplemental axle magnets which eliminates the need for an initial oil change and reduces metallic contamination between lubrication intervals.
This heavy-duty planetary rigid axle can be customized to the OEM’s specific vocational requirements. For more information about the AxleTech International PRC 1756 W3H axle, please call 1-877-877-9717. Information is also available at www.axletech.com.
