Troy, Michigan – US Gear, a division of AxleTech International, announced the launch of its new Lightning Series high-performance gear sets, which feature an Isotropic Superfinishing (ISF®) treatment.
The company expanded its manufacturing capabilities and product offering with the installation of REM Surface Engineering’s industry leading super finishing equipment to provide in-house surface finishing for all high-performance racing gears. The patented process generates a nondirectional low roughness average (Ra) surface and utilizes mass finishing equipment with nonhazardous chemical accelerants. There are many advantages to surface treatment of bevel gear sets, including the elimination of break-in procedure and the reduction of friction, wear, vibration, and noise.
“As the only aftermarket brand manufacturing gear sets solely in the USA, we are always looking to enhance our customers’ experience when choosing gears, and our new Lightning Series gears add a sought after feature to our product line. Since the product is factoryfinished, we can provide our customers with a faster turnaround and eliminate an extra step which adds additional shipping costs. We are excited to provide this feature to racing enthusiasts who value our high quality gears made in the USA,” said Tim Goode, Director of Sales, North America – Off-Highway & Motorsports.
