Troy, Michigan, Oct. 12, 2018 – AxleTech’s Fully Integrated Electric Powertrain System for Commercial Trucks is a finalist for the 2019 Automotive News Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contribution to Excellence (PACE) Awards. This is the second consecutive year one of the company’s advanced technologies has been named a finalist for the prestigious PACE Awards, which honor automotive suppliers for their level of technical advancement, superior innovation and business excellence.
“AxleTech pushes the limits of what is possible ‘between the wheels’, so having our talented engineers’ innovative efforts recognized by the PACE Award judges in back-to-back years shows the tangible benefits of that mindset,” said Bill Gryzenia, CEO, AxleTech. “Our new integrated e-powertrain technology represents a breakthrough for heavy-duty electric trucks in performance, efficiency, and durability. This groundbreaking achievement stems from our world-class expertise in drive axles and suspension systems, positioning us to capitalize on the growing market for electrified powertrains in the commercial vehicle industry.”
AxleTech’s revolutionary electric vehicle powertrain system will be revealed in 2019. It is one of 35 technologies moving on to the final stage of the 2019 PACE Awards judging process. Winners will be announced during a ceremony at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit on April 9, 2019.
Last year, AxleTech’s Front Drive Independent Axle Suspension System was among the finalists named for the 2018 PACE Awards. The modular drive technology improves the safety and control of heavy-duty vehicles, as well as addresses common problems associated with outdated suspensions, such as control and rollover issues in all-wheel-drive class 7 and 8 trucks.
