6000 Series Rigid
The AxleTech International 6000 Series planetary rigid axle delivers on quality, durability, and maintainability. Engineered to operate and sustain axle loads up to 85,000 lb (38,000 kg), the 6000 Series is a versatile axle designed for vehicle applications such as heavy lift trucks, terminal tractors, and railcar movers.
The 6000 Series planetary rigid axle offers a wide selection of gear ratios, load capacities and brakes for performance characteristics tailored to your needs.
Engineered for compatibility with demanding traction conditions, the 6000 Series planetary rigid axle meets the trend of increased driveline torques, tire sizes, and loading requirements while providing ruggedness for prolonged life.
The 6000 Series design helps reduce OEM end-user maintenance costs. A standard unitized input pinion seal reduces the likelihood of oil leaks. Extra axle housing magnets also come on option to help reduce metallic contamination between scheduled lubricant change intervals.
Options include wheel mounted wet disc or cam brakes. Optional input mounted hydraulic Hold Off/Spring Applied caliper park brake on a 16.0 in (406 mm) rotor is also available. Failsafe brake chambers are also an available option when cam brakes are specified. For severe duty cycles, optional force- cooling ports are available on wet disc brakes to allow for auxiliary cooling. Mechanical wear indicators for the wet disc brakes are an available option to permit visual inspection without axle/wet disc brake disassembly.
